Open the launcher, next click the "Play" button then select "Multiplayer" from the menu.
Click "Add Server" tab and input the text mc.valence-smp.net on the "Server Address" box then hit "Done".
Once the connection is available and turns green you may click on "Join Server" button to play on Valence SMP.
Valence SMP supports Minecraft version: 1.20, you may also use any other older or lower versions to connect and play on the server.

Understand that i was staff on this server for years. Upper management is rude, and the owner is constantly on a power trip. They enjoy controlling everything, religious discrimination rp, ableism, fatphobia. I’ve been in calls where the owner has talked disrespectfully about the mentally ill players. He simply Cannot take criticism. The mechanics are wonderful. But the environment is so toxic chernobyl feels like a safe haven. Genuinely not worth the grief.
So, this is quite hilarious. Not only did they disable reviews on another website, but they also deleted their Disboard and other platforms to hide criticism. Let me give you insight into this server: I joined Valence in autumn 2023. It was an open server with a tightly knit community, and roleplaying was fun, though strict at times. I enjoyed it so much that I logged in every day. However, things started going downhill. The staff became more controlling, and the owner got a massive power trip. They would badmouth roleplayers for their style (confirmed by former and current staff). In addition, some questionable people were on the team, and roleplay became very centered around the main city, Stonebay, and the Kingdom. Anyone who opposed the King (the owner) in-character would be harassed out-of-character and excluded. On the old review site, staff posted positive reviews—suspiciously timed—using robotic comments, likely to bury bad reviews. These negative reviews often mentioned how the roleplay excluded any religious roleplay outside the main religion, which is concerning given current world events. Also, missing a day of roleplay could get you in trouble, as they treated it like a full-time job. Other things worth noting: - A character name was rejected for being Arabic, even though other real names were allowed. - Unfair treatment of players both in-character and out-of-character, with a lack of separation between IRP and OOC. - A staff member who made fatphobic and ableist jokes, confirmed by another staff member and many more. Don't join this server unless you want to be disappointed. It's a shame how it turned out because it was fun at first, but it's not worth the stress.
